Lunch at the beach

Today I will lunch at the beach with my coworkers. We will drive and eat and then go back to work. It's sad that work always happens (Monday - Friday) but at least we get the weekend free. I raided my fridge and brought picnic fixings. I boiled eggs, I cut up a stick of butter, and put crackers into plastic bags.

Picnics are good inexpensive way to have fun at the beach for little cost.

Sizzler in El Segundo

The service here is fast, and the salad bar here is quite good. The food was mediocre but edible, and the pricing very good. Sign up with Sizzler and you can get 2 for 1 coupons ... you buy 1 entree and the second entree is free.

Black Angus in Torrance

Avoid this place. The food is mediocre and the staff constantly jack up prices by asking, "would you like grilled onions and mushrooms with your entree." The reason they ask is that they charge $4 for that addition.

The strawberry lemonade refills are not free, and a refill costs $3.95.

Kings Hawaiian in Torrance

The food is unpretentious but well prepared, at a decent price. Whoever makes their pastries was trained as a French chef. The pastries are delicious and not overpoweringly sweet.

I would recommend this restaurant for fresh, unpretentious cuisine that doesn't damage your wallet.

Valention's Pizza in El Segundo

The food is definitely mediocre., but the prices are decent. I would give this place a miss. Not a foodie delight by any means.

Farm Stand in El Segundo

Farm Stand in El Segundo is worth visiting. The food actually is fresh and the servings are substantial. The restaurant starts you off with a selection of breads. Always nice to have something to nibble on before ordering.

Beware the prices though. They seem to be on the more expensive side in my opinion.
